The Situation:
The I2R Inventory team believed their inventory was accurate, but they didn’t have the right toolset to validate and manage it. They thought they had everything they needed when they purchased the Epicor ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Software, however, post-purchase they found it wasn’t as fast as it could be to efficiently complete their inventory tracking functionality. Based on this challenge they elected to evaluate software options to resolve their inventory count effectiveness and efficiency issues. The native Epicor inventory counting solution required my team and I to use a lot of paper and clunky handhelds. My team and I were frustrated by having to print paper tags, cut the tags then sort the paper by bin before actually scanning tags (or keeping track of counts on a paper tally sheet for someone else to enter into the system).
